Back by popular demand, we’re re-running a session run by stylist Ilka Dunn that focuses on the impression we make as we enter a room. Dressing with Authority. This is Power Dressing rebooted for the 2010s, with fewer shoulder pads…

Since I met the fantastic stylist Ilka Dunn, my relationship to my clothing has been radically changed. I hate shopping, I don’t like fashion, I’m not a ‘girly girl' and I've always struggled to know what I should be wearing when I do a big speech.

Whilst I’m still not a fan of shopping, Ilka has shown me how to look and feel great in my big moments by wearing the styles and colours that most suit me.

With a background in political sciences and senior level political clients, Ilka has bundles of wisdom that I’m eager to share with you.

Topics Ilka will be covering:

  • The power of clothes: Why Ilka went from political communication and campaigning into strategic styling and image curation.
  • Authority Dressing: As a member of the Game Changers group of future female leaders, you are undoubtedly an authority in your profession. Do your clothes communicate this clearly to others? Do they instill certainty in others that you are the most important person to talk to, invest in and support? Ilka will discuss the symbolic and subliminal messages of specific accessories and clothes and show how these can be added to outfits in varying degrees to increase a person’s authority. You will see how you can employ your clothes to help you gain support and reach your professional goals.
  • Colour, Cut and Style Personality: learn about the 3 elements that apply to clothes, accessories, hair colour and cut and make up, that make you look the very best version of yourself in business and in your leisure time. Plus: With the help of a volunteer, Ilka will use scarves and necklaces to demonstrate the impact of colour and jewellery styles.
  • The fun part: There will be an array of scarves and jewellery for you to try on. Ilka will help and give advice.

Important to Note: This isn’t the usual Game Changers format, we’re going to hear a presentation from Ilka over a bite to eat, then have chance to connect together and play with different colours, style types and ask Ilka for advice. Still expect the usual inspiring opportunities to connect and discuss with other Game Changing women.

NB – the Game Changer’s network is not-for-profit; your fee covers a delicious lunch, plus a small pot to support game changers who are at the super-grassroots end of charities & social enterprises.
