TED Style Speaking Master Class - Free video series!
How much time have you spent in your professional life listening to talks and presentations? And how many of them were useful, engaging and inspiring? For most of us, the percentage is low. And that’s down to the ability of the speaker to write great talk content.
Ginger’s talk writing training unpacks the art of great speech or presentation writing in a way that’s practical, strategic, time-saving and fun. We’ll show you simple methods for writing and delivering talk content that engages the audience and has your desired impact, whether that’s selling an idea, a product, or building your reputation.
Most professionals have never received professional training on how to write talk content, so when they’re asked to talk, there’s a good deal of flailing about in the dark. Powerpoint ‘happens’. Words get prepared (usually far too many). And, more often than not, waffle ensues.
Most speeches or presentations come on top of an already busy work schedule. We don’t know what we’re doing, and we may not even want to know, especially if public speaking itself gives us the heebie-jeebies.
Ginger’s series of talk writing courses make the process of preparing a presentation or speech simple.
Offering one-day or two-day courses, longer programmes, e-learning, and 1-2-1 speaker coaching packages, we have a selection of methods to suit your aims and preferred learning style.

Senior consultant Marcus described himself as ‘at best, pedestrian’ before he started one of Ginger’s talk writing courses. His typical presentations centred around long, data-heavy PowerPoint slides and he would typically cope with the anxiety of public speaking by reading his slide contents out loud. ‘I’d put myself to sleep if I was listening’, Marcus admitted.
Whilst he was aware he could do much better, he felt that his other work pressures didn’t give him time to stop and think. Along with his colleagues, Marcus felt that he was missing something versus competitors, especially in the pitching process.
Marcus and his team knew they were better than all that. They came to our training with a clear aim – to step up their talk writing skills so that they could pitch better and take to the conference stage with pride.
Ginger helped Marcus and colleagues to clear the clutter and confusion from the talk writing process. We offered them a set of simple talk writing tools that are used by the pros to help them decide what to focus on and how to structure their information.
Critically, it was more than just the theory. Over 3 months, Marcus and team went through the process of writing and refining a TED-style talk which they then delivered at the end of the course.
‘The experiential aspect of the programme is what made it really useful’ Marcus said, ‘and I developed some gems of extremely compelling content that I recycle to use in all sorts of situations.’
‘Before working with Ginger, our speaking was pretty stilted. We were supporting the PowerPoint, rather than the other way round. Now, we’re telling stories, we’re more spontaneous – and it builds a better connection with our clients.’
Marcus reported that some months after the training, he went into a pitch with just a whiteboard and marker pen. ‘I just connected with them and told them stories. And we won a massive piece of work that by rights should have gone to someone else.’
Best of all, Marcus says that Ginger methods have saved him time. ‘I used to spend about 10 hours preparing for a presentation. Now I can do it in less than 1 hour.’
"One of the participants said that in the 15 years of association with CEREC, this was by far the best training programme he had attended – high praise indeed! Thank you for your work with our speakers and for the excellent programme"
